Pretty simple really. Someone stole someone else’s image and then wasn’t very understanding when they asked for them not to use it anymore.
Not sure I would call that politics since its pretty clearly just illegal.
More power to the people who choose to use CC and other licenses, but personally, I hold my copyrights pretty near and dear. 🙂
